González Burguete Creative is the artistic and creative enterprise of González Burguete, bringing together independent identities across photography, design and publishing.

 

The enterprise provides a framework for creative work to develop across different forms while allowing each identity to retain its own authorship, character and area of expertise.

 

Its work is connected by three ideas:

IMAGE · FORM · EDITION

 

These ideas are not rigid divisions. They represent interconnected ways in which creative work can be observed, conceived, composed and given lasting form.

 

A single project may embody all three.

 

 

Image

Image begins with observation.

 

Photography and visual culture provide a means of interpreting places, spaces, objects and moments through light, composition and perspective.

 

Within González Burguete Creative, image is represented principally through Claudia González Burguete, an artist-led photographic practice and virtual gallery concerned with photography as a form of observation, interpretation and visual authorship.

 

Image, however, extends beyond photography alone. It encompasses the wider role of visual language across creative work: how something is seen, interpreted, represented and communicated.

 

 

Form

Form is the transformation of an idea into physical, spatial or visual expression.

 

It encompasses space, proportion, material, furniture, objects, colour and composition, and the relationships through which individual elements become a coherent whole.

 

Within González Burguete Creative, form is represented principally through Catarina Atelier, a multidisciplinary design practice working across interiors, spaces, objects and selected creative projects.

 

Form is deliberately broader than either object or interior. It allows design to move between scales and disciplines while remaining connected by an interest in composition, material and atmosphere.

 

 

Edition

Edition gives ideas a defined and enduring form.

 

Through books, publications and printed matter, words and images can be edited, sequenced, designed and brought together as objects intended to be encountered, kept and returned to.

 

Within González Burguete Creative, edition is represented principally through Catarina Publishing, an independent publishing practice dedicated to books, editions and printed matter across art, design, photography and culture.

 

Edition provides permanence: a moment at which evolving content is given structure, material presence and a particular form.

 

 

Distinct Practices, Shared Context

González Burguete Creative does not replace the identities it brings together. 

 

• Claudia González Burguete retains the authorship of her photographic work.

• Catarina Atelier retains its identity as a multidisciplinary design practice.

• Catarina Publishing retains its identity as an independent publishing practice.

 

Each may work independently. Where appropriate, they may also collaborate.

 

A photographic publication, for example, may present photographs by Claudia González Burguete, be conceived and curated as a Catarina Atelier project, and be published by Catarina Publishing.

 

In this way, a single project can bring together:

• IMAGE — photographic authorship;

• FORM — creative composition and design;

• EDITION — publication and permanence.

 

Each identity is credited according to its contribution rather than being absorbed into a single creative studio.

 

This allows disciplines to intersect while preserving clarity of authorship.

 

 

A Creative Framework

Across its different disciplines, González Burguete Creative is concerned with the movement between seeing, creating and giving permanence to ideas.

 

• An image may inspire an object.

• An interior may become the subject of a photographic study.

• An archive may become a book.

• A book may become a designed object.

 

A single project may move between several of these territories while retaining clarity about the contribution of each creative identity.

 

IMAGE · FORM · EDITION therefore describes more than the enterprise's current activities. It provides an open framework through which future creative disciplines, projects and collaborations can develop.
