Collaboration Across Disciplines

González Burguete Creative provides a framework in which its independent creative identities can work individually or come together around a shared project.

Photography and visual work have a natural place within the Catarina Publishing catalogue. A publication dedicated primarily to a body of photographic work by Claudia González Burguete may be published by Catarina Publishing while retaining Claudia González Burguete as the artist and photographic author.

Photography may also contribute to other Catarina Publishing titles without becoming the principal identity of the publication. A recipe book, for example, may feature a photograph by Claudia González Burguete on its cover while remaining fundamentally a Catarina Publishing title.

In each case, authorship and publishing remain distinct. The photograph retains its photographic authorship, while the publication belongs to its appropriate editorial or creative context.

Catarina Publishing may also publish books conceived as creative projects by Catarina Atelier.

Photographic anthologies, visual studies and other highly composed publications may depend substantially upon curation, sequencing, art direction and design for their creative identity. In these instances, Catarina Atelier may originate and creatively direct the project, Claudia González Burguete may provide the photography, and Catarina Publishing may produce and publish the resulting edition.

The roles remain complementary:

Claudia González Burguete — photographic authorship.
Catarina Atelier — concept, curation and creative composition.
Catarina Publishing — publication and edition.

Not every project requires all three identities. Each participates only where its contribution is relevant to the work.

The Prismatic Catarina Collection brings together a colourful selection of personal stories and blog writings by Claudia González Burguete, capturing memorable experiences, unexpected adventures and defining moments across several extraordinary years.

As a collaborative González Burguete Creative project, the collection brings together Claudia's writing and photography with the creative direction and composition of Catarina Atelier and the publishing expertise of Catarina Publishing.

Standalone Projects

Standalone projects originate principally within one creative identity while drawing upon another where a particular contribution—such as publication—is required.

Within Claudia González Burguete's photographic work, the and the illustrate two related but distinct forms: the exhibition as a curated photographic experience, and the publication as its permanent record.

The CGB Photographic Exhibitions form a continuing programme of curated photographic studies developed from Claudia González Burguete's wider photographic Archive.

Beginning with her first solo exhibition in London in 2013, the programme developed through the selection and curation of photographs connected by place, subject, cultures, occasion or visual approach.

The exhibitions move between several areas of photographic exploration.

Studies of Place examine cities, regions and collective geographical relationships through architecture, landscape, culture, streets and everyday detail.
Culture & Lifestyle explores traditions, cultural life and significant events, including Mexican Charrería and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Photographic Studies focus on particular subjects and ways of seeing, including macro photography, flowers and black-and-white work.

Together, these exhibitions transform individual photographs from the wider Archive into deliberate bodies of work, allowing new relationships to emerge between images created at different places and moments.

The programme continues to evolve as recent photography and earlier Archive material provide opportunities for new studies.

2. CGB Exhibitions Series

The CGB Exhibitions Series gives selected photographic exhibitions a permanent published form.

Where the exhibition brings photographs together through a curated visual experience, the book establishes a fixed sequence through which those works can be revisited beyond the Gallery.

The series preserves Claudia's developing exhibition programme across five photographic anthologies:

CGBP Exhibitions: 2016–2017
CGBP Exhibitions: 2018–2019
CGBP Exhibitions: 2020–2021
CGBP Exhibitions: 2022–2024

Across the series, photographs move through architecture, landscapes, cultural traditions, significant events and photographic studies—from Mexico, Britain, Europe and Asia to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Each volume reflects the exhibitions and curatorial relationships of its particular period, creating a continuing published record of Claudia's photographic practice.

The books retain Claudia González Burguete as photographic author, while Catarina Publishing provides the publishing context through which the exhibition work becomes a permanent edition.

From Exhibition to Publication

The two projects are connected, but they are not the same.

The CGB Photographic Exhibitions are the original artistic and curatorial work.
The CGB Exhibitions Series is the published record developed from selected exhibitions.

An exhibition may therefore exist independently without becoming a book, while publication provides another way of preserving and experiencing selected exhibition work.

Together, they demonstrate how a project can move between different forms while retaining clarity around its origin and contribution:
