González Burguete Group (GBG) is an independent group of creative, technical and professional enterprises founded by Claudia González Burguete in May 2013.

 

Established as a home for her existing projects and a foundation from which future enterprises could develop, the Group was created around a simple idea: different interests and disciplines should be able to grow with their own identities while remaining connected by a shared approach to creativity, knowledge and enterprise.

 

GBG was established in May 2013, during the year in which Claudia's photographic exhibition programme began, bringing her early creative activities together within a single structure. Her first photographic exhibition followed in October that year. What began around photography, jewellery and craft has since evolved into a multidisciplinary group spanning photography, design, publishing, engineering, research, consulting, objects and collections.

 

Today, the Group is organised across three complementary enterprises:

• González Burguete Creative — artistic and creative.

• González Burguete Precision — technical and professional.

• González Burguete Editions — objects and collections.

Together, they provide a structure through which ideas can be observed, imagined, investigated, designed, developed, made, published and brought into the world.

 

 

An Evolving Group

The structure of González Burguete Group has evolved considerably since its foundation.

 

As Claudia's work expanded into new disciplines, new enterprises emerged, earlier activities evolved and others were reorganised. Distinct identities were established as the purpose and character of each area became clearer.

 

This evolution remains fundamental to the philosophy of the Group.

 

González Burguete does not require every enterprise to perform the same function or share the same public identity. Instead, the Group provides a structure within which specialist brands can develop independently while remaining connected to a wider creative and intellectual context.

 

An individual project may belong entirely to one brand or bring several together.

 

A photographic book, for example, may present photographs by Claudia González Burguete and be published by Catarina Publishing. A photographic anthology may additionally be conceived, curated and designed as a Catarina Atelier project.

A complex professional assignment might begin with strategic or feasibility work undertaken by Kentron and progress into engineering research, design and development through Tome.

​

An object conceived through a creative discipline might eventually become part of a collection or collaboration developed through González Burguete Editions.

​

In each case, the identities remain distinct and are attributed according to their contribution.

Although each González Burguete enterprise has its own purpose, identity and area of practice, they share an underlying belief in curiosity, considered thinking and the development of ideas.
