A life between creativity and precision

Claudia González Burguete is a multidisciplinary creator, photographer, author, engineering designer and entrepreneur whose work brings together creative expression and technical precision.

 

Born in Mexico City in 1976, Claudia developed an interest in photography from an early age after receiving her first camera during primary school. Photography became an enduring part of her creative life, developing into an extensive body of work and, since 2013, a continuing programme of photographic exhibitions.

 

Her creative work also extends to writing, art and design. She began writing poetry in 1999 and contributed to six poetry anthologies before publishing her own collections, including Virgin Thoughts and Voyage Within. Her later work brought photography and writing together through photographic editions and anthologies.

 

Alongside her creative pursuits, Claudia developed a technical foundation in engineering. She studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City before moving to England in 2002. She later completed an MSc in Microelectronics and Telecommunications at the University of Liverpool and an MPhil in Electronics Engineering, specialising in Photonics, at University College London (UCL).

 

Her engineering work encompasses research, development, design and technical communication, including articles and research presented in both English and Spanish.

 

 

González Burguete Group

In May 2013, Claudia founded González Burguete Group as a home for her existing activities and a foundation from which future enterprises could develop.

 

Rather than bringing different disciplines under a single operating identity, she created distinct enterprises for different areas of work, allowing each to develop its own purpose and character while remaining connected by a wider vision.

 

Today, her activities extend across three principal areas:

• González Burguete Creative — photography, design and publishing.

• González Burguete Precision — engineering, research, strategy and advisory.

• González Burguete Editions — objects, collections and editions.

 

Together, these enterprises reflect the two complementary perspectives that have shaped Claudia's work throughout her life: the curiosity and imagination of a creator and the analytical discipline of an engineer.

 

She continues to work across disciplines, exploring and developing ideas through photography, words, design, research, engineering and enterprise.
