CGB Photography Exhibitions: 2013–2015
One camera. Three years of exhibitions. A visual journey through places, cultures and moments.
CGBP Exhibitions: 2013–2015 is the first volume in the photographic exhibition series documenting Claudia González Burguete's continuing exhibition programme.
The CGBP title reflects the original Claudia González Burguete Photography identity under which the publication was created. In 2026, the photographic practice became Claudia González Burguete, while the titles of earlier publications were retained as part of their original publication history.
Spanning culture, travel, sport, architecture and everyday observation, the collection moves from the traditions of Mexican Charrería and folklore to the energy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the architecture of European cities, the monuments of India and photographic observations from London and across Britain.
The anthology provides a permanent published record of the exhibitions through which Claudia's extensive photographic Archive began to develop into deliberately curated bodies of work.
The Beginning of an Exhibition Programme
Claudia's relationship with photography began in childhood and developed through analogue cameras, early digital photography and, eventually, professional photographic equipment.
After years of building an extensive photographic record through travel and everyday observation, she presented her first solo photographic exhibition in London in October 2013.
That exhibition marked the beginning of a continuing programme of curated photographic studies.
CGBP Exhibitions: 2013–2015 brings together work from those formative years, showing how individual photographs of places, traditions, events and everyday experiences began to find new relationships through exhibition.
Culture & Tradition
The anthology begins with subjects closely connected to Claudia's Mexican heritage.

Charrería, the subject of her first exhibition, explores Mexico's national sport through charros, horses and Escaramuza traditions, drawing upon Claudia's family connections with Jalisco.

Mexican Folklore Dance Costumes celebrates the colour, detail and regional character of traditional clothing associated with different parts of Mexico.
Together, these studies use photography not simply to record an event or object, but to preserve aspects of cultural identity and tradition.
London 2012
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games form another significant part of the anthology.
Photographs from the Olympic Games record the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, venues, sporting events and the wider atmosphere surrounding London during the Games.
The Paralympic photographs extend this record through ceremonies, venues and sports including cycling, athletics, boccia, powerlifting, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, football, goalball, wheelchair basketball and swimming.
The resulting images preserve both sporting history and Claudia's personal experience of living in the host city during an extraordinary period.
Places & Architecture
Travel photography brings together architecture, monuments, cities and landscapes encountered across Europe, India and Britain.
European subjects include places associated with Athens, Amsterdam, Berlin, Luxembourg, Rome, Paris, Brussels, Vienna, Madrid, Moscow, London and Vatican City.
Photography from India includes the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Hawa Mahal, Jaisalmer Fort, Qutb Minar, Red Fort and Victoria Memorial, alongside other places encountered through travel.
Landscapes and architectural observations extend through London, Istanbul and destinations across England and Wales, including Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Windermere and Windsor Castle.
Together, these photographs establish the early foundations of what would develop into Claudia's continuing Studies of Place.
Sport & Everyday Life
Beyond London 2012, the anthology records other sporting and cultural experiences across Britain.
These include Wimbledon, the London Marathon, triathlon, basketball, American football and events connected with the continuing legacy of the Olympic Games.
Alongside major events are more everyday observations of London life: Chinese New Year, museum evenings, public sporting events, Christmas markets and other cultural experiences encountered around the city.
The relationship between significant occasions and ordinary discoveries became an important part of Claudia's expanding photographic record.
Photographic Studies
The collection also includes more focused photographic experimentation.
A 12-month time-lapse study at St Pancras Park in London records the changing character of the same environment across the seasons, exploring how light, vegetation and atmosphere transform a familiar place over time.
These early studies demonstrate an increasing interest in moving beyond individual photographs towards bodies of work connected by subject, observation and visual relationships.
From Exhibition to Edition
CGBP Exhibitions: 2013–2015 transforms temporary exhibitions into a permanent photographic edition.
Images originally selected and brought together for individual exhibitions are given a new relationship through the sequence of the book, creating a visual record of the first three years of Claudia's exhibition programme.
As the first volume in the CGB Photography Exhibitions Series, the anthology also establishes the beginning of a continuing published record of that work.

Mexico City
The Historic Centre of Mexico City is explored through the architecture, monuments and details that contribute to the character of Claudia's home city.
The study includes landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Palacio Nacional, Casa de los Azulejos, Palacio Postal and Torre Latinoamericana.
Through these buildings and urban details, the photographs bring together different periods of the city's architectural and cultural history.
London 2012 — Olympic Opening Ceremony
The anthology returns to the London 2012 Olympic Games through a photographic record of the Opening Ceremony, Isles of Wonder.
The photographs capture moments from the transformation of rural Britain through the Industrial Revolution, the formation of the Olympic Rings, the parade of athletes and the lighting of the Olympic Flame.
Viewed several years after the event, the images preserve both a historic ceremony and Claudia's personal experience of witnessing London welcome the world.
Paris
Paris is explored through some of the architecture, monuments and cultural institutions that have shaped its visual identity.
The photographic study includes the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Sacré-Cœur, the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Moulin Rouge, Les Invalides, the Panthéon and Versailles.
Together, the images create a study of a city encountered through architecture, history, culture and familiar landmarks.
Mexican Flowers
Moving away from the scale of cities and architecture, Mexican Flowers turns towards the detail, colour and structure of nature through macro photography.
Dahlias, roses, poinsettias, tulips, hibiscus, petunias, foxgloves and other flowers are examined at close range, revealing forms, textures and colours that can easily be overlooked.
The study represents another way of observing: moving from the character of a place to the character contained within a single natural form.
Istanbul
Istanbul provides a photographic study of a city shaped by its position between Europe and Asia.
The collection moves through landmarks including Hagia Sophia, the Süleymaniye Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Bosphorus Bridge, Galata Tower and Dolmabahçe Palace, alongside other observations made around the Bosphorus.
Architecture, history, water and geography come together to reveal different aspects of a city defined by the meeting of cultures and continents.
London 2012 — Paralympic Opening Ceremony
The London 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony, Enlightenment, provides another photographic record of an important moment in the history of the Games.
The photographs move through the ceremony's exploration of science, imagination and human potential—from the participation of Stephen Hawking and the parade of athletes to the lighting of the Paralympic Flame.
Together with the Olympic Opening Ceremony, the images preserve two very different expressions of London 2012 through photography.
Madrid & Toledo
The final study brings together Madrid and Toledo through their contrasting architectural and historical character.
Madrid is represented through landmarks including the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, Cibeles Fountain, Prado Museum, Puerta de Alcalá and Teatro de la Zarzuela, while Toledo introduces another layer of Spanish history through sites such as its historic Alcázar.
Presented together, the photographs explore different expressions of Spanish architecture, history and urban identity.
An Evolving Photographic Practice
CGBP Exhibitions: 2016–2017 reflects a period in which Claudia's photographic catalogue continued to develop beyond its origins as a personal record of travel.
Archival photographs were reconsidered through exhibition, while newer work and photographic approaches expanded the range of subjects being explored.
City studies sit alongside macro photography. Architecture and travel sit alongside historic events. Photographs created at different moments acquire new relationships through curation and sequence.
In this way, the anthology records not only the exhibitions themselves, but the continuing development of Claudia's photographic approach.

London 2012 — Olympic Games
The anthology returns to the London 2012 Olympic Games through photographs of sporting events, venues, volunteers, mascots and the atmosphere surrounding the Games.
The study includes basketball, football, handball, hockey and table tennis, alongside locations such as Olympic Park and Wembley Stadium.
Rather than concentrating solely on competition, the photographs also record the wider experience of London 2012: the places, people and details that transformed the host city during the Games.
Italy
Italy is presented as a collective photographic study moving through Rome, Vatican City, Venice, Naples, Pisa and Pompeii.
The photographs explore architecture and archaeological heritage through landmarks including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, St Peter's Basilica, Rialto Bridge, St Mark's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza dei Miracoli and the Temple of Apollo.
Bringing together several locations within a single exhibition allows different periods and expressions of Italian history to enter into dialogue—from the remains of the ancient world to religious, civic and urban architecture.
Sofia
Sofia is explored through the varied architectural heritage of Bulgaria's capital.
The city's Byzantine, Russian, Serbian and Ottoman influences can be observed through landmarks including the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Rotunda of St George, Sofia Synagogue, National Art Gallery and Russian Church.
Together, the photographs reveal the layers of history and cultural influence that contribute to the city's distinctive character.
London 2012 — Paralympic Games
The London 2012 Paralympic Games are presented through a photographic record of sport, venues and atmosphere.
The collection includes wheelchair racing, boccia, goalball, athletics, powerlifting, swimming, track cycling, wheelchair basketball, table tennis and wheelchair tennis.
As with the Olympic study, the photographs move beyond individual sporting results to preserve the wider experience of the Games and the people, places and moments surrounding them.
Greece
Greece becomes a collective study of ancient history, architecture and landscape through photographs from Athens, Rhodes, Delphi, Mycenae, Epidaurus and Cape Sounion.
The exhibition includes sites such as the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Poseidon, Temple of Apollo and Corinth Canal, alongside other archaeological and architectural observations.
Rather than presenting each destination separately, the photographs are brought together as a wider study of the physical traces through which ancient history remains visible within the contemporary landscape.
An Evolving Photographic Journey
CGBP Exhibitions: 2018–2019 continues a photographic journey that began in childhood and developed through analogue photography, digital cameras, travel and exhibition.
An early photograph received first place in Claudia's category in a Photographs and Poems competition, beginning a relationship with photography that would continue to develop over time.
As her equipment and experience evolved, the photographic catalogue expanded from personal travel memories into architecture, landscapes, culture, sport and significant events.
Following her first solo exhibition in London in 2013, this growing Archive increasingly became a source from which new exhibitions and photographic studies could be curated.

London 2012 — Olympic Closing Ceremony
The anthology returns to London 2012 through a photographic record of the Olympic Closing Ceremony, A Symphony of British Music.
The photographs preserve moments from the athletes' parade, performances celebrating British music and fashion, the handover to Rio 2016 and the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame.
As the finale of the Olympic Games, the ceremony provides another perspective on London 2012—not through sporting competition, but through celebration, spectacle and collective memory.
Singapore
Singapore is explored through the meeting of cultures, architecture, landscape and contemporary city life.
The photographic study moves through the ArtScience Museum, Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay, Little India, Kampong Glam, Merlion Park and Sentosa, alongside colourful Hindu, Buddhist and Chinese temples.
Together, the photographs reveal a city in which different cultural traditions and architectural expressions coexist within a distinctive urban landscape.
Mexican Flowers
Moving from the scale of the city to the detail of nature, Mexican Flowers presents an intimate photographic diary created from flowers and plants photographed in Xochimilco, Mexico City.
Colour, texture, structure and natural form become the subjects of close observation.
Some of these photographs later acquired another creative context when they were incorporated into photographic editions of Claudia's poetry, allowing images that began as individual observations to become part of a wider relationship between photography and writing.
Copenhagen
Copenhagen is explored through architecture, royal heritage, gardens and traces of Denmark's Viking history.
The study includes Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace, Kronborg Castle, the Little Mermaid and Tivoli, alongside royal gardens and other landmarks in and around the city.
Together, the photographs move between historic and contemporary Copenhagen, revealing different layers of Danish culture and place.
The Netherlands
The Netherlands is presented as a collective photographic study moving through Amsterdam, Edam, Volendam and Kinderdijk.
Historic canals, traditional architecture and urban landmarks are brought together with the country's distinctive relationship with water and windmills.
The study includes the Royal Palace, Rembrandt House Museum and Amsterdam Central Station, alongside the traditional landscapes and built environments encountered beyond Amsterdam.
London
London is presented through the architecture, history and familiar places encountered as part of everyday life in the city.

Rather than approaching London solely as a visitor destination, the photographs form part of a longer visual relationship with the city Claudia called home.
Floral Study
A second floral photographic diary continues the exploration of colour, detail and natural form.
The collection includes portraits of agave, cyclamen, poinsettias, anthuriums, bougainvillea, orchids, succulents and other plants, using close observation to reveal the individual structures and characteristics of each subject.
Together with Mexican Flowers, the study demonstrates another dimension of the photographic practice: moving away from geographical scale towards the details that can capture attention within everyday life.
Exhibition & Visual Identity
The visual presentation of the anthology changes as the subject changes.
Individual exhibitions are given distinctive treatments inspired by their content—from colours associated with national identities surrounding selected city studies to vibrant framing used for close-up floral photography.
These visual distinctions allow each exhibition to retain its own character while becoming part of a wider anthology.
The book therefore records not only the photographs themselves, but the way individual exhibitions were curated and presented at a particular moment in the development of the Gallery.

CGBP Exhibitions: 2020–2021 continues the process of transforming temporary exhibitions into a permanent photographic record.
City Studies sit alongside Regional & Collective Studies. Culture and significant events sit alongside intimate Photographic Studies of natural form.

The Four UK Capitals
The four capitals of the United Kingdom—London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast—are brought together within a collective photographic study.
Palaces, castles, cathedrals and familiar urban landmarks reveal different expressions of history and identity across the four cities.
Rather than treating each location as a separate exhibition, the photographs acquire meaning through comparison, bringing four capitals into a shared visual context.
Central Mexico
Central Mexico is explored through a collective study of archaeological heritage, colonial architecture, historic cities and cultural identity.
The photographs move through locations including Aguascalientes, Chiapas, Chichén Itzá, Dolores Hidalgo, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Taxco, Teotihuacán, Toluca and Tula, bringing together different periods and expressions of Mexican history and place.

Flowers of Chiapas
Flowers of Chiapas turns from the scale of cities and landscapes towards the colour, structure and detail of nature.
Created at the Faustino Miranda Botanical Garden in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the photographic diary brings together flowers and plants encountered through close observation.
Colour, texture and natural form become the subjects of the study, continuing Claudia's exploration of botanical photography within the wider Gallery.
Berlin
Berlin is explored through architecture, memory and the physical traces of history within the contemporary city.
The photographic study includes the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall Memorial, East Side Gallery, Checkpoint Charlie and Olympic Stadium, alongside other sites connected with the city's complex past.
Together, the photographs consider the ways history remains visible through buildings, monuments, streets and preserved fragments of the urban landscape.
Wales
Wales is presented as a collective study of landscape, architecture and heritage.
The photographs move through Aberystwyth, Caerphilly Castle, Cardiff, Castell Coch, Llangollen and Tintern Abbey, bringing together historic buildings, towns and landscapes within a wider study of place.
Rather than focusing on a single destination, the exhibition explores relationships between different expressions of Welsh history and landscape.
Mexican Beaches
Mexico's coastal landscapes provide a very different study of place.
The exhibition moves from the Pacific to the Caribbean through Acapulco, Cozumel, San José del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
Beaches, coastal landscapes and the distinctive character of individual destinations are brought together as a collective study of Mexico's relationship with sea, landscape and place.
Flowers of Aguascalientes
A second botanical photographic diary explores flowers photographed at San Marcos Garden in Aguascalientes.
The study includes African lilies, bougainvillea, hibiscus, jacaranda, angel's trumpet and other flowers, using close observation to explore colour, structure and natural detail.
Together with Flowers of Chiapas, the exhibition continues a recurring photographic interest in the forms and colours found within nature.
York
York is explored through the layers of history preserved within the city's architecture and streets.
The photographic study includes York Minster, the city walls, Micklegate Bar, Clifford's Tower, the River Ouse, the Guildhall and York Castle Museum.
Medieval architecture, historic structures and the contemporary city come together to create a study of a place in which different periods remain visibly connected.
Switzerland
Switzerland is presented as a collective study of cities, landscape and Alpine character.
The photographs move through Bern, Lucerne and Zurich, alongside the Rhine Falls, Titlis, Alpine landscapes and traditional Swiss chalets.
Urban architecture and natural landscape are brought together to explore contrasting expressions of Swiss place and identity.
Guanajuato
The state of Guanajuato is explored through the history and colourful architecture of Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende.
The photographs consider the relationship between architecture, streets, cultural heritage and the historical significance of these places within Mexico.
Presented together, the locations form a study of regional character rather than isolated photographic destinations.
Liverpool — Photographic Diary
Liverpool has a different relationship with Claudia's photographic history.
Drawing from an extensive Archive created during the years she lived in the city, the photographic diary revisits places including Liverpool Cathedral, Chinatown Gate, the Royal Liver Building, Metropolitan Cathedral, Philharmonic Hall, Cavern Club, Victoria Building and Walker Art Gallery.
Rather than documenting a single journey, the study reflects a longer personal relationship with a place once called home.
The photographs therefore sit between place and memory, bringing earlier observations into a new curatorial context.
Exhibition & Visual Identity
Individual exhibitions within the anthology retain their own visual character.
Selected Mexican studies use framing inspired by the red, white and green of Mexico, while botanical photographs are presented against deeper purple tones that draw attention to the colour and detail of the flowers.
These visual decisions allow each exhibition to develop its own identity while remaining part of a wider photographic anthology.
The publication therefore preserves not only the photographs, but something of the curatorial and visual presentation through which the exhibitions were originally experienced.
From Exhibition to Edition
CGBP Exhibitions: 2022–2024 brings three years of exhibitions into a permanent photographic edition.
Individual City Studies sit alongside Regional & Collective Studies. Architecture and landscape sit alongside botanical observation. Recent photographs coexist with images rediscovered within an earlier personal Archive.
Together, they demonstrate how photographs created at different times and for different reasons can acquire new relationships through curation.
As the fifth volume in the CGB Photography Exhibitions Series, the anthology preserves another stage in Claudia's continuing exploration of place, observation, memory and photographic interpretation.
