The Prismatic Catarina Collection — Volume 1: Anthology from 2017 to 2021 brings together personal stories and blog writings by Claudia González Burguete, creating a colourful record of travel, photography, sport, culture, entertainment, entrepreneurship and everyday life across five eventful years.
The collection grew from Claudia's personal blog, where experiences were recorded as they happened—from journeys and cultural discoveries to significant events, new interests and the unexpected turns of everyday life.
Accompanied throughout by Claudia's photography, the stories preserve not only where she went and what she experienced, but the observations and memories associated with those moments.
Travel & Discovery
Travel forms an important thread throughout the collection.
The stories move through the landscapes of Scotland and Switzerland and across Singapore, India and Mexico, alongside experiences in Madrid, Budapest, Berlin, Prague and other European cities.
Photography accompanies many of these journeys, providing a visual record of the places, details and moments encountered along the way.
Yet the collection extends far beyond travel.
Experiences Along the Way
Sport forms part of the story, including memories connected with London 2012 and experiences at the 2017 World Athletics and Para-Athletics Championships.
British life and culture appear through events such as The Patron's Lunch, celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday, while a visit to Bletchley Park brings together Claudia's interests in history, science and engineering.
Other stories enter the world of Harry Potter in London, moving between the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, theatre, exhibitions and filming locations.
Alongside these larger experiences are personal milestones: buying, moving into and decorating a home in London; exploring entrepreneurship and online business; spending time with family; and discovering new interests along the way.
An Extraordinary Period
The final part of the collection moves into a very different period of everyday life.
The COVID-19 pandemic transformed familiar routines and expectations, and the stories document Claudia's personal experience of self-isolation, vaccination and the gradual movement towards normality.
Placed alongside travel, sport, culture and personal milestones, these entries preserve the contrast between the freedom of earlier adventures and the unexpected restrictions that came later.
A Personal Chronicle
The Prismatic Catarina Collection is not a conventional travel guide or a record of a single subject.
It is a personal chronicle of a life shaped by curiosity.
A journey through Scotland can sit beside an Olympic memory. A visit to Bletchley Park can be followed by a Harry Potter adventure. A new home, an entrepreneurial experiment or an unprecedented global event can become as memorable as travelling somewhere new.

The Prismatic Photographic Collection — Volume 1: Anthology from 2013 to 2021 brings together eight years of photography by Claudia González Burguete, creating a visual record of places, cultures, events and personal experiences observed through the camera.
Spanning travel photography, landscapes, street photography, cultural traditions, sport and personal photographic studies, the anthology draws from Claudia's exhibitions, photographic Archive and wider creative work between 2013 and 2021.
More than a photographic catalogue, the collection pairs colour photography with short personal anecdotes and stories, revealing some of the experiences, memories and moments surrounding the images.
Places & Journeys
Photography moves across Europe, Asia and Mexico, recording places encountered through travel and everyday observation.
The collection includes journeys through France, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia, Italy, Greece, Denmark, the Netherlands, India, Turkey, Singapore and Mexico.
Cities, architecture and historic landmarks appear alongside streets, landscapes and smaller observations—from Paris, Madrid, Budapest and Sofia to Moscow, Rome, Venice, Athens, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Mexico City.
London also forms an important part of the collection, creating a photographic record of the city Claudia called home and the familiar and unexpected details encountered through everyday life.
Culture & Occasion
Photography provides a way of preserving not only places, but the events, traditions and occasions through which they are experienced.
The collection includes photographs from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, bringing together ceremonies, sporting events and moments surrounding the Games.
Mexican culture is explored through the traditions of Charrería and the colour and character of traditional folklore costumes.
Together, these images move beyond geographical observation to record the people, traditions and events that contribute to the identity and memory of a place.
Photographic Studies
Alongside travel and cultural photography, the anthology brings together more focused photographic explorations.
Landscapes, seasonal change, macro flower photography and other visual studies demonstrate an evolving interest in subject, technique, colour, light and composition.
The collection also includes selected competition photography, including work exhibited through the Royal Photographic Society and a scientific image awarded third place in an EPSRC photography competition.
Other photographs developed beyond the individual image to find new contexts through book covers, illustrated poetry editions and other published work.
Behind the Image
Throughout the anthology, photographs are accompanied by short personal stories and anecdotes.
These provide another layer to the images: the circumstances in which a photograph was created, the experience associated with a particular place, or the reason an apparently simple moment became memorable.
Some photographs document significant events. Others began with nothing more than curiosity.
Together, image and narrative create a visual memoir in which the photograph preserves the moment while the story preserves something of the memory surrounding it.
An Evolving Photographic Journey
The collection reflects a relationship with photography that began in childhood and developed through analogue cameras, early digital photography, professional equipment, travel, photographic study and exhibition.
By bringing together work created across different periods and contexts, The Prismatic Photographic Collection also traces the evolution of Claudia's way of seeing—from photography as a personal record towards a more considered practice of observation, composition and interpretation.
Some images belong to formal exhibitions. Others come from the wider photographic Archive. Some have been published, entered into competitions or developed through other creative work.
Together, they form part of the same continuing photographic history.
